[Saturday, 30 September 2017 04:08]
With 1 Million Euros prize-money, the Gr.1 Arabian World Cup is the most prestigious race in the world of Purebred Arabian racing and one of the highlights of the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe weekend. Last year's champion Al Mourtajez may have retired but the tenth edition of the Gr.1 Arabian World Cup is still expected to be a exciting contest.
Mirroring the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the Arabian World Cup is the climax of the year in the Purebred Arabian racing calendar.
Alban de Mieulle-trained Tayf, owned by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, will be looking to stay on course for the Doha Triple Crown after having won the first leg (Gr.1 Qatar International Stakes.) at Goodwood. However, most prominent challenger will be Julian Smart-saddled Ebraz, HH The Emir’s Sword winner and Gazwan who has won Euros 1,338,884 in prize money. Both horses will be racing in the colours of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani.
