The world’s richest race on turf, “The Everest”, will be held on October 14 at the Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, Australia. The race will be run under weight-for-age conditions and will be run over 1200m on turf. The prize money of $10 million makes it the richest race on turf. The Everest is fully-funded from investors/subscribers and additional revenues generated from the event. The race has attracted significant interest from Europe, Asia and America.
The 12 slots have been sold to individual buyers who pay $600,000 to secure a slot (starting position) for three years. The Everest will feature horses nominated by slot owners.
