Q: What were you looking for, when you chose to buy the most expensive horse at the Cape Premier sale?
A: You would look at pedigree, confirmation and whether or not a horse looks athletic and has a good constitution to make a top racehorse.
Q: How is he doing a year on?
A: He has only run once and was placed second he has grown a lot lately and need to mature he will only be at his best as a late 3 year old/4-year-old
Q: Over the years, who would you say were your favourite horses?
A: We have had many good horses in our yard would have to say my favourites were Pocket Power, Inara, What a Winter and Marinaresco, but we have had lots of very good horses so hard to choose
Q: Are there any interesting sires you will be looking out for, in the 2019 edition of the sale?
A: of the newer stallions a Twice Over, What a Winter and then the obvious Silvano, Dynasty and Trippi
Q: Where would you start looking, when you are seeking something special?
A: A good start would be pedigree and then one needs to find a good specimen and also the stud itself plays a big role, where they are born and raised.
Q: Which sires among the young lot are you most hopeful about?
A: I think Twice Over has a bright future ahead of him I am also like the What a Winters very much
Q: How has technology affected and influenced your business?
A: I think we have all had to move with the times as far as technology is concerned and we have adapted well. I think social media has had a big influence and is certainly a good marketing tool.
