Three Bridges Thoroughbreds prides itself on raising athletic thoroughbreds whose racetrack performance speaks for itself. Owner Peter Liston firmly believes, that to raise high quality horses they need to be introduced back to nature, where they can be allowed to live like horses. Their large acreage enables their horses to develop naturally in 100 acre undulating and sheltered paddocks with established pastures.
And all decisions are made jointly in this family owned farm. Experience, enthusiasm and attention to detail are all hallmarks of the Liston family. And it shows. Last year alone they raised six stakes winners on the farm including two Group One winners - Leicester and Soapressa.
The Impact speaks to Peter Liston about his draft for this year’s Inglis Easter Yearling Sales:
Q: Please tell us more about your 2019 Easter Yearling Consignment?
A: We have 4 horses going into the sale.
Lot 60 - Into The Mist x Lonhro colt: - First foal from a Group 2 winner by Redoute’s Choice. The Redoute’s Choice x Lonhro cross has produced Group 1 winner Kementari and has really taken off in the past year. This colt is an exceptional first foal, lovely rich brown colour and has a very mature head and body that could see him develop into a stallion for the future. He will be a popular colt at the Inglis Easter sales.
Lot 116 - Midnight Oil x Dundeelfilly:- Out of an Oaks winner by a brilliant Derby winner this filly is all class. She is very mature, has a wonderful hindquarter and a very intelligent head. Timing is on her side with Dundeel raising the bar with two Group 1 winners already and a few more on the horizon.
Lot 170 - Papillon Rogue x So You Think filly:- She has a beautiful head just like her father. The So You Think x Fastnet Rock cross is proving to be a very popular mating, providing a lot of scope and strength. This filly has fantastic movement and really uses her whole body with classic movement. She has dapples and looks fantastic.
Lot 200 - Provocative x Tavistock colt:- This colt is a first foal out of a Group 1 Queensland Oaks winner, Provocative. The Tavistock x Zabeel cross has produced Derby winners in all of the Southern Hemisphere’s major Derby races and this colt looks set to follow with his pedigree. He has Derby and stayer written all over him. Provocative was freakishly athletic and this colt is cut from the same cloth.
