The average race experience for the Kentucky Derby Race Meeting has increased by 4% since last year. This year’s hopefuls with most experience are State of Honor, Soneteer & Gunnevera with 10 races each.

One-eyed Patch is the least experienced among the 20 hopefuls. But a crowd favourite. He's got one race under his belt, where he rallied from the fifth position to come in second in the Louisiana Derby (G2) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots.

We would also see John Oxley's Classic Empire, who rallied from fifth to win his May 4, 2016 debut in a maiden special weight race at Churchill Downs.
