In the same august company, Michael Halford trained- Rehana, who finished a good fourth in the recent Handicap behind D'bai, is another to take seriously.

 

Smiling Blue Eyes has gone 234 days since her last race. Although she raced her first race in 2017 well, the rest were lost without even trying. Her breeding and form of course suggests she has the class to win the race with ease. But whether she has the determination to win, remains to be seen. Owned by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, the South African bred filly was recently moved out of South African trainer Sam Tarry’s yard and travelled to join South Africa’s top trainer Mike de Kock’s Dubai string. Tarry has said in a previous interview, “The filly is very unlucky not to be a Grade 1 winner because she’s been beaten by the best fillies around”.

 

5 year old mare, Promising Run is certainly looking promising. Recently came third in Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes behind Muffri'Ha and Zest. And she beat Light The Lights on her first start here last year in the Al Rashidiya. This Godolphin mare is one to watch seriously this season, it just may be here time to make good on her promises.

 

Opal Tiara, however may not let her do so! The Mike Channon trained mare, placed a cool fourth behind Benbatl in the recently upgraded Gr.3 Singspiel Stakes. She has the form and the energy to take on the spirited Promising Run.
