Preview: Mahab Al Shimaal
Godolphin to make tough choices about Comicas
A 1200m race run on dirt, the Mahab Al Shimaal is a TB group 3 race that will be run on the Super Saturday on 10th March. The prize money for this race is USD 200,000.
We currently have 16 nominations for this race. Godolphin has nominated Comicas for this as well as the Burj Nahaar. So we will see Comicas run in at least one of them. Other nominations include Al Shindagha Sprint winner My Catch, District One 300 Villas Dash winner Raven’s Corner, Jebel Ali Sprint winner Shillong, Velar Handicap winner High on Life and Mina Azizi winner Yalta.
Other nominations have either won or have been placed in the first three in this year’s Dubai World Cup Carnival. Some runners are Dutch Masterpiece, Jordan Sport and Wild Dude. F Nass trained Musawaat also has good chances in this race as he came in second on two occasions during this year’s carnival races, once behind Mailshot and other behind Secret Ambition who might run in this race.
Another F Nass trained horse Krypton Factor also could not showcase his prowess in the only he raced this world cup carnival the HH The President Cup where he came in seventh. G Selvaratnam trained United Color was not able to impress the owners in his last two outings.
Like Comicas, Secret Ambition has also been nominated in Burj Nahaar. We have to wait and see where these horses will be confirmed to run.
