April 14th will see a historic event take place. The Champions Day 2 race meeting will see four prominent races take place at the Randwick Racecourse. The race meeting is also prominently known as the Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day.
The race meeting will showcase four major events The Australian Oaks, Queen of the Turf Stakes, The Queen Elizabeth Stakes and The Sydney Cup.
A tried and tested group 1 race for three year old fillies, the Australian Oaks. It is run over a distance of 2400m and is worth the prize money of $1 million. We will see a field of 13 horses fight it out in this race for the ultimate price. The favourite to win the race in Chris Waller trained Unforgotten.
“The 2400 is always a test for any horse, let alone a three-year-old, but she’s fit and her preparation’s coming right at the right time of the year,” Waller said. “She’s out of a Galileo mare (Memories Of You) which I take a lot of confidence in.
Waller targets the Ciaron Maher-trained Aloisa and New Zealand Oaks winner Savvy Coup as prime threats but Unforgotten shows that she is ready for the challenge.

This race will be marked in history as Winx will be running in this race and targeting her 25 straight win. This race will be run over 2000m at the Randwick and will have a prize purse of $4 million. This race is a Group 1 condition race as Weight for Age.
We have a race card that looks mighty spirited and ready. On one hand we have Winx a true champion. She currently has 24 straight wins and she will be targeting 25 and one the other hand we have 9 horses who will be waiting to get out of that starting gate and begin reason. Trainer Chris Waller is pretty confident about Winx attempt at the feet to be placed right next to Black Cavier.

A race that requires great concentration, stamina and the zeal to win, a 3200m Gr1 Handicap race which has a prize purse of $2 million. It’s the Sydney Cup. It will be held on Saturday the 14th of April, 2018 at Randwick racecourse. The Charlie Appleby trained Polarisation won the 2017 version of the race under Jockey C W Brown.
This year we will not see any Appleby trained horses but what we do have is worth watching the race. Oliver trained Almandin is the race favourite. He will be ridden by Liam Howley. Almandin will try to enter the league of extraordinary horses who have won both the Melbourne Cup and the Sydney Cup. He won the 2016 version of Melbourne Cup.
Andrew Adkins ridden Sir Charles Road and Liam Howley trained Aloft will be his closest threats.

This race is also known as the Legacy Stakes. It is a group 1 race it will be run on Saturday 14th April at Randwick racecourse at a distance of 1600m. The Queen O The Turf is perfectly placed during the Carnival. It follows on from the Coolmore Classic and the Emancipation Stakes. The defending champion Foxplay will also be in the race and will be ridden Kerrin McEvoy.
