Together with Guineas winner Olmedo Intellogent and Study Of Man prevailed in key trials for the Prix du Jockey Club. Also some strong horses from Ireland and the UK are expected to get sent to Chantilly.
Olmedo: Jean-Claude Rouget trained son of Lomitas is the race favourite despite winning only two of his five starts which included the Poule d'Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas) in May.
Wootton: Narrowly beat Olmedo in the Prix de Fontainebleau in April and also because the Fontainebleau fourth-placed Rostropovich had meanwhile won the Dee Stakes at Chester.
Intellogent: Won the Prix de Guiché (G3, 1800 m) in Chantilly on May 7, fifteen times this race has produced the later winner of the Prix du Jockey Club.
Study Of Man: Prevailed in one of the key trials for the Prix du Jockey Club, defeated the highly valued Alounak and Alhadab in the 2100m Gr.2 Prix Greffulhe and has been runner-up in the Gr.3 Prix la Force on his seasonal debut. The son of the Japanese star horse Deep Impact is nominated for the Epsom Derby as well.
Alounak: Came runner-up in the Prix Greffulhe and looked like he would be better suited by a distance beyond 2100 meters. The son of Camelot already won two Listed races in Germany and is actually favourite to win the German Derby.
Dice Roll: Ffinished just a head behind Olmedo in the French 2000 Guineas and is obviously among the candidates for the Gr1. Prix du Jockey Club as well. He has won four of his six starts and impressed with a five-length victory on his seasonal debut in the Gr.3 Prix Djebel.
Key Victory: Is an unbeaten son of Teofilo from the Godolpin stable, who won a Listed race on deep ground in Newmarket. His trainer Charlie Appleby said afterwards, he had always felt that Key Victory is a 2000 meter horse and that the Prix du Jockey Club might suit him.
Bugle Major:Has not run in a major race yet, but won his last outing despite he had missed the start. However, according to trainer Pascal Bary, the Prix du Jockey Club could come to early for his unbeaten Khalid Abdullah-owned son of Mizzen Mast.
