Outsider Bacchus, edged out Dreamfield causing a huge upset under Jim Crowley. Bacchus was off track for 260 days

 

This was trainer Brian Meehan’s first Royal Ascot win in 6 years.

 

He said: "He's handicapped right at the moment but we will see what the handicapper does after this. He's just a lovely horse who ran some lovely races last year and I'm just delighted with him today.”

 

Winning jockey Jim Crowley, who was recording his second victory of the meeting having partnered Eqtidaar to success in the Commonwealth Cup on Friday, was delighted with the result.

 

He said: “It's been a great week and it just got better.

 

"When I saw Dreamfield carry me along like that, I rode him to beat Dreamfield then and it worked out great."
