Preview: Gr.2 Godolphin Mile ( Horses, Analysis, Racecard, 2018 Video)
The Coal Front Vs Muntazah Face-Off
Todd Pletcher’s second shipment to Dubai was unexpected. Yet send he did. Coal Front While Audible has mastered the art of leaving Pletcher, Coal Front may be learning to follow in Audible’s footsteps.
Out of his 8 starts, Saeed bin Suroor trained Major Partnerships has won four of them and placed in another two. This lightly raced and slightly unknown colt, comes in as a wild card, with some interesting disruptive qualities. But is he ready to take on his betters? That is the question!
Nonkono Yume, the Gr.1 February Stakes (2018) winner has disappointed in the starts after the win, including this year’s re-run of the event, suggesting that maybe not in as good a form as would need to beat this field.
Turkish Group One winning Good Curry has only shown improvement in every race since his Meydan debut. His last run in the Gr.3 Burj Nahaar (when runner up behind Muntazah) was stellar. He has a real chance of landing in the trifecta.
Secret Ambition has a very secret ambition (to win the Godolphin Mile!) he just has to beat Muntazah and Kimber.
Doug Watson trained Kimber also has the same ambition. He too has not appeared to be in the same form as he was in 2018.
While it seems for stablemate Muntazah, 2019 is his year. He has done extremely well over the last season, shown plenty of improvement and is a real threat of Coal Front.
Godolphin Mile (2018) winner Heavy Metal, doesn’t seem to be in the peak form he showed himself in 2018. This may be a tough race for the defending champ.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum owned-Ibn Malik, Kiaran P. McLaughlin trained-True Timber, Erwan Charpy trained-Logrado, Simon Crisford trained-African Ride, Maher Ebrahim Lutfallah owned-Musawaat complete the field.
