Local and International Flavours Fight To Win Most At Sale
The crown jewel among sales of the southern hemisphere’s yearling sale season, acclaimed graduates such as The Autumn Sun, Merchant Navy, Estijaab, Russian Revolution, Mossfun, Pinot and Flying Artie is once again around the bend.
The catalogue features 450 yearlings are 39 siblings to Group 1 winners such as The Autumn Sun, Merchant Navy, Sunlight, Lankan Rupee, Brazen Beau, Shoals, Fawkner, Starspangledbanner, Catchy, Dundeel, Ivictory, Lucky Bubbles, Shooting To Win, She Will Reign, Shamus Award, Aerolithe and Pinot.
And there is also progeny of 34 Group 1-winning mares such as Hasna, River Dove, Pear Tart, Our Egyptian Raine, Rostova, Steps in Time, Brazilian Pulse, Provocative, Headway and Dizelle.
The big guns in the catalogue include a brother to Merchant Navy, a three-quarter brother to The Autumn Sun by Not A Single Doubt, a half-brother to Shoals by Pierro, a half-brother by Fastnet Rock to Lankan Rupee and a brother to Brazen Beau whose son Tassort who showcased a stellar win in his debut race.
Damion Flower’s Snitzel has the strongest array of yearlings scheduled to the Easter Sale with 37 lots while other top sires have followed through with popular Sebring hovering close with 33 lots, Fastnet Rock with 31 lots and I Am Invincible with 31 lots.
International sires have curried the flavour with yearlings by the likes of Deep Impact, Frankel, Lord Kanaloa, Tapit and Harbinger also catalogued.
Arrowfield Stud is leading vendor with 55 entries ahead of Coolmore Stud (43), Kitchwin Hills (23), Segenhoe Stud (22) and Widden Stud (22).
