Last year Trapeze Artist emerged as one of the strongest sprinters in the country and his run to victory in The Everest was almost guaranteed given. This year the colt doesn't feature in the line-up but it has nevertheless drawn an interesting field, headlined by the likes of Osborne Bulls, Pierata and D’Bai, features some of the country's strongest 2019 sprinters, who will definitely be looked at in The Everest as well.
Le Romain: 2018 and 2017 runner-up hasn’t won a race this campaign. He fought well in the All-Star Mile & the Doncaster Mile and he should be nearer to the top of the list of winners but may not wear the crown.
Osborne Bulls: Although he has a great form and his past performance can't be faulted, he just hasn't been lucky. He hasn't drawn a great barrier, but lets wait and watch if Hugh Bowman can extract some magic from the colt.
Pierata: This colt is Osborne Bulls' greatest threat. He has shown that can go to a higher gear in the closing sectionals, he has superb tactical versatility, enjoys the distance. Under Tommy Berry and on his best form I think he might just have an edge over .
Malaguerra: Malaguerra joins us after a considerable break after finishing second behind Alizee in the Futurity Stakes. Although the colt is fresh, is he race-ready is the question.
D’Bai: Godolphin's D’Bai has been shipped back from Dubai after a win in the Al Fahidi Fort at Meydan. Has Charlie Appleby found the perfect race is a question yet to be answered.
Manuel: Manuel won the Orr Stakes over this distance earlier in the Autumn and his form after that has been pretty strong. Under Blake Shinn, he is likely to take the lead early and if he doesn't tire towards the end, can take the crown.
Siege Of Quebec: Unlikely to give a strong challenge to the big guns in this field.
Lanciato: Definitely outclassed in this august field, considering the results in her last few starts.
Fierce Impact: Fierce Impact could finish no better than sixth in the Ajax Stakes and this race is much tougher. He is one of the outsiders of this field for a reason.
Youngstar: Doomben Cup is her major target and the filly is likely to give the boys a run for their money.
Champagne Cuddles: Champagne Cuddles has not won but finished in the placings in five of her six starts at this distance. She has, however, produced one of the best performances of her career to finish fourth in the TJ Smith Stakes last start.
Siren’s Fury: She looks outclassed in this sort of company.
Naantali: Naantali is unlikely to feature in the Trifecta, although the fact that she has also been accepted for the Victoria Handicap in Melbourne, causes one to pause.
