Inglis Great Southern Sale, comprising 871 weanlings, is considered to be the Southern Hemisphere’s largest weanling offering.
A total of 530 weanlings and 285 broodmares, 54 racing stock, one stallion and one stallion share (in Tosen Stardom) are slated to go under the hammer, with weanlings by top sires like Snitzel, Not A Single Doubt, Zoustar, Pierro, Brazen Beau, Dundeel, Exceed And Excel, Written Tycoon, So You Think, Sebring, Hinchinbrook, Lonhro, Rubick, Choisir and Savabeel as well as first season stallions such as Capitalist, Extreme Choice, American Pharoah, Flying Artie, Winning Rupert, Cable Bay, Astern, Frosted, Palentino, Mshawish, Tivaci, Alpine Eagle and Holler.
The broodmare draft comprises, high-quality mares in foal to the likes of Merchant Navy, Exceed And Excel, Dundeel, US Triple Crown winner - American Pharoah, Brazen Beau, Zoustar, Written Tycoon, Caravaggio, Rubick and Invader plus racing stock from Lindsay Park and Contract Racing, among others, including multiple Group-placed mare Swampland.
In 2018 there were multiple huge pinhook results including a Zoustar x Canyonville colt (purchased at Great Southern for $225,000, onsold as a yearling for $700,000), a Brazen Beau x Ms Mazetti colt (a $25,000 GSS weanling, sold for $200,000 as a yearling) and a Smart Missile x Hannah Jane filly, which was purchased for $20,000 at Great Southern and realised $170,000 as a yearling.
Also catalogued is one share in stallion, who stands at Woodside Park Stud.
In 2018 Aquis purchased Yulong Xingsheng (I Am Invincible X Carlie Rose) offered by Woodside Park Stud for A$380,000, which was the most expensive Lot purchased in the sale.
